Blood Pressure Log & Reports: Privacy Policy

This policy covers the iPhone app Blood Pressure Log & Reports, published by Setout Labs LLC ("we"). It explains what stays on your iPhone, what leaves it, and how to delete your data. Our company-wide privacy policy covers this website and our other products.

The short version

  • Your readings, notes and reports stay on your iPhone. We never see them.
  • There is no account to create and no cloud copy of your readings.
  • We use three outside services for usage analytics, crash reports and purchases. None of them receive your readings, notes, reports or Apple Health data.
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites, show ads, or sell your data.

What stays on your iPhone

Everything you enter is saved in a database on your iPhone: blood pressure values, pulse, the date and time, notes, and tags such as which arm you used. The app also keeps your reminder times and settings there. This database is not included in iPhone backups, and we have no server that holds a copy. If you delete the app, your history is deleted with it.

Apple Health

Saving to Apple Health is optional and off until you turn it on. When it is on, the app writes your blood pressure and pulse readings to Apple Health. The app does not read anything from Apple Health. Health data is never used for advertising and is never shared with the services listed below.

Reports you share

When you create a PDF or CSV report, the app makes a temporary file and opens the iPhone share sheet. The report goes only where you choose to send it, such as your doctor's email. The app removes its temporary file after sharing. Any copy you send is outside our control.

What leaves your iPhone

We use three service providers. They process data on our behalf and under their own privacy terms.

  • Mixpanel (usage analytics). Records simple events such as "app opened", "reading saved" or "report exported", tied to a random ID the app creates. The events never contain your blood pressure values, notes, times or report contents. Mixpanel also receives basic device details (such as iPhone model and iOS version) and estimates your city, region and country from your internet address. For users of the US App Store, analytics is on by default. Elsewhere it stays off unless you turn it on. You can turn it off at any time in Settings → Analytics.
  • Sentry (crash reports). If the app crashes or hits an error, a report is sent so we can fix it. It includes technical details such as the app version, iOS version and iPhone model. It does not include your name, readings or notes, and we do not attach any user identity to it.
  • Superwall (subscriptions). Shows the upgrade screen and checks whether you have an active purchase. It uses an identifier Apple assigns to this app on your iPhone, plus basic device details and your purchase status. Payment itself is handled by Apple; we never see your card or billing details.

What we do not do

We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We do not show ads or use advertising networks. We do not sell or rent your data. We do not use your health information for marketing.

Deleting your data

Because there is no account, there is no account to delete. To erase what the app stores, open Settings → Delete all data. You will be asked whether to also delete the copies the app saved in Apple Health or keep them there. Deleting the app from your iPhone also removes its data. Reports you already shared, and data already in Apple Health that you chose to keep, are not affected. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription; see our terms for how to cancel.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to its use, and to complain to your data protection authority. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If we learn that a child under 13 (or the minimum age where they live) has given us personal data, we will delete it. Parents or guardians who believe this has happened should email us.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above. For material changes we will give notice before they take effect.
